I believe in God, the Father almighty,

2 Timothy 1:7-10
7 For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control. 8 So never be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor be embarrassed over my imprisonment, but overcome every evil by the revelation of the power of God! 9 He gave us resurrection life and drew us to himself by his holy calling on our lives. And it wasn’t because of any good we have done, but by his divine pleasure and marvellous grace that confirmed our union with the anointed Jesus, even before time began! 10 This truth is now being unveiled by the revelation of the anointed Jesus, our life-giver, who has dismantled death, obliterating all its effects on our lives, and has manifested his immortal life in us by the gospel.
2. Timotheus 1,7-10
7 Denn Gott hat uns nicht einen Geist der Feigheit gegeben, sondern den Geist der Kraft und der Liebe und der Besonnenheit. 8 Bekenne dich also offen und ohne Scheu zur Botschaft von unserem Herrn! Schäme dich nicht meinetwegen, weil ich für ihn im Gefängnis sitze, sondern sei bereit, mit mir für die Gute Nachricht zu leiden. Gott gibt dir die Kraft dazu.
9 Er hat uns gerettet und uns dazu berufen, ihm ganz als sein Eigentum zu gehören – nicht wegen unserer guten Taten, sondern aus seinem eigenen freien Entschluss. Ihm gehören wir aus reiner Gnade, wie er sie uns durch Jesus Christus geschenkt hat schon vor aller Zeit.
10 Jetzt aber ist diese Gnade offenbar geworden, als Jesus Christus, unser Retter, auf der Erde erschien. Er hat dem Tod die Macht genommen und das unvergängliche Leben ans Licht gebracht. Darum geht es in der Guten Nachricht.

Prayers of Intercession and Lord's Prayer
Gracious and loving God,
the Psalmist reminds us that,
‘You are our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.’
God, we feel deeply that our world is in trouble
with the spread of the coronavirus.
There is a heightened sense of fear and anxiety about the future.
We ask that we may calmly and lovingly trust in you
and care for all who are affected by this pandemic.
Please bless the work of health professionals,
government officials, aged care providers, school and community leaders.
Grant them strength and wisdom.
We pray for all who feel stressed and worried,
that they might find peace and reassurance.
Free us from panic and selfish stockpiling.
We pray for all those who mourn the loss of loved ones to the virus,
that they will find comfort and support.
May all our congregations and faith communities
be places of empathy, compassion and calm in all we face.
All our supplications flow together in the prayer Jesus has taught us:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever. Amen.
